Tamecia Kariuki, LMSW, received her Masters of Social Work degree from Arizona State University specializing in child welfare and is a licensed social worker in the state of Arizona. Ms. Kariuki, has worked in the child welfare field for almost nine years providing quality case management to families involved with Department of Child Safety (DCS). Ms. Kariuki, actively works with families impacted by substance abuse, mental illness, domestic violence and homelessness advocating for their well-being. Ms. Kariuki, values family centered practice and empowering Arizona’s families to be happy and healthy. Ms. Kariuki also provides field instruction to Master’s level college students pursuing a degree in Social Work and has completed over seventeen hundred volunteer hours as an AmeriCorps member working with homeless veterans. Ms. Kariuki, has been an advocate for survivors of domestic violence, a prevention specialist for teen pregnancy, spent eight years in a high school setting as a paraeducator and teen conflict mediator. Ms. Kariuki is also, privy to collaborating with various facets of the community and identifying relevant resources for families. At FCE, Ms. Kariuki conducts Parenting Conferences, in-home/in-office observations, and home inspections for family court.
